Garden in the castle #3211

The garden and farm are located in a secluded spot, surrounded by orchards that line the western part of Týn nad Bečvou. It’s off the main road, offers privacy, and has a charming atmosphere. The property covers 3,000 square meters and is shared between you and the animals. Behind the fence, you’ll find sheep, chickens, and, during the summer months, donkeys. You can enjoy views of the Moravian Gate, a beautiful quarry, and Helfštýn Castle; overall, the garden is full of interesting nooks and crannies.
The garden is fully fenced and features many fruit trees that provide plenty of shade even on sweltering days. The garden includes a fire pit, seating areas, hammocks, a sandbox, swings, and toys for children. You can pitch a tent here or park a RV—there’s plenty of space. A trailer is available where you can spend the night in your own sleeping bags.
There’s no electricity or running water, but there is a well with non-potable water.

The garden serves as a home for horses and sheep. We also use them as “lawnmowers”—they maintain the garden and keep the grass trimmed on an ongoing basis :-) We just touch things up with a lawn mower and a brush cutter. In the summer, there are two donkeys in the garden who regularly come here for their vacations. In the summer, the horses graze on pastures in Týn and are usually outside the garden, but it’s possible to arrange a ride. During the summer vacation, a summer kitchen is available in the garden.

Nearby is Helfštýn Castle, about a 30-minute walk away, along with an excellent bike path, the Bečva River, Lipník and its sights, quarries, caves in Hranice, and soooo much more… So come visit—you’ll see, feel, and experience the magic of the Moravian Gate.
