Where do the property ratings come from?
I'd like to start with positive things. The nature around the cottage is amazing. Beautiful trees, peaceful. Communication with the owner is perfect, very nice. The cottage can be reached by car even in rainy weather, we have a hyundai i30, so not very high chassis, and at a speed of 6km/h we made it to the cottage without harm - where we stood by the habitable cottage on the road, there is no parking space - but during our stay there were two cars passing. Also, a gentleman with a machete walked past the cottage, with whom we had a bit of a conflict (we thought it was private property and no one should go there) - as we had our dog on a leash, and he was guarding us, it came to the point that he barked at the unexpected visitor at the cottage, and the gentleman was already preparing his machete for defense.... This is where I start with the more negative stuff. The first shock came right away with the cottage. We went on a family holiday in the countryside with our children (3 and 5 years old). Somehow, based on the reviews and photos, we came to a different picture of what to expect than what the reality was. The first impression made me want to cry and we even considered leaving, because of the children's enjoyment of the outdoors we said we would try to make it work. We are used to being in nature, but this derailed us. We let the kids sleep on the fold out couch, on mattresses on top of it (the couch is very dirty and spotty). The general state of hygiene was unreal. I didn't even want to touch anything, everything was incredibly spotty, dirty. Mouse poop on the mattresses. I don't know how to fit more people in the cottage. We had to sleep on the floor, on mattresses chewed by mice, when we really swept the poop off them. I barely slept the whole week we stayed. I was sorry we didn't bring a tent because we would have preferred to sleep outside. Every night we were visited inside by a plch. It's a beautiful little animal that climbed into our food bags and tried to steal our waffles. By sleeping on the ground, because there is no other option, (unless you want to sleep in the horrible, creepy second cabin), the flea walked around our ground "bed" and lived with us. He makes noise, watches, steals :D but he is beautiful. But really count on him being inside with you. Kadibudka is so horrible we didn't go in the whole time. I was glad we brought a potty for the kids just in case. The smell from the kadibudka goes directly into the hut, so better not open the windows on that side. Overall, we tried to just live by the fire pit, outside, and then it was beautiful. The cottage was a really awful experience, I'm so sorry, even considering the owner is a really nice gentleman, but I don't understand how no one could mention it from so many reviews.
Kitchen facilities - giant kettle over the fire, two pots, pans, bowls, mugs, cutlery, knives, chopping boards. Spices, sugar, salt, coffee, mocha pots, teas. Total: bin bags, torches for lights, a couple of flares, candles, matches, lighter, deodorant, books, games, wet wipes..
So in summary, really beautiful nature, the hut was a horror for us. Maybe for two adults it will be great, if they sleep on the couch, not caring about some hygienic elements - like really dirty mattresses, couch,..

The car could be driven a short distance from the cottage (it was dry) and that was great too. The whole time we saw only one car in the meadow, otherwise not a foot in the area. Apart from the recommended destinations (Rešov waterfalls, Sovinec) we visited Rabštejn, Paseka arboretum and had a beer from Morous brewery in Rýmařov. Not far from the brewery (and also from Penny) there are nice ponds to walk around.

We then discovered that the main accommodation was in the second cottage which was cosy. So don't be as scared as we were 🙈 Everything you need is available and matches the description, there is more rather than less 🤣 Definitely take plenty of drinking water with you. Otherwise the area is absolutely quiet, we didn't meet a living thing. We had nice weather and managed the trip with a RWD vehicle and fairly low, but it's probably also about experience. Definitely don't recommend in rainy weather unless you are downright confident or have a 4*4. Super communication with the owner. Plchy we have seen. They made themselves known on Friday, but Saturday night felt like they were raiding the cottage 🤣🤣 But we survived and none got in. We will definitely visit the place again because it was max cool and quiet, just our family and nature. We didn't have any problem with firewood because we discovered a quarry nearby. And even so, there is plenty of wood on the ground in the area. 😊 In the cabin a kettle, tripod, things to work with wood, utensils and lots of other things. We didn't even use the gas, we did everything on the fire. I would definitely recommend a visit, as I have never experienced how the area comes alive with plchas as it gets dark. 🤣🤣

Owner's reaction Jsme moc rádi, že si místní příroda našla další příznivce, byli jste spokojeni s komunikací a vaše vozidlo zvládlo příjezdovku i přes nižší světlou výšku. Parkovat přímo u chaty na lesní komunikaci je zbytečné a může přinést zbytečné interakce přesto, že se jedná o soukromý pozemek na samotě. K většímu komfortu spaní slouží skládací matrace, které lze dát na zem, nebo na gauč a hygienu zajišťuje vlastní spacák. Plši jsou chráněné zvířata a občas nějaký bobek za sebou nechají, zvlášť když se nechává volně jídlo. Obdivujeme vaši odvahu vyrážet s malými dětmi, také děkujeme za skvělou komunikaci a mimořádně důkladný úklid.
